GEO confirmed on October 17 that it detected unauthorized access to its system on October 15. To prevent secondary damage, it announced maintenance starting at 9 PM on October 17, with an unspecified completion date. All GEO online services are temporarily suspended.

While physical stores remain operational for buying and renting, the GEO app membership card is not usable. Customers must present either a Ponta card or a digital Ponta instead. Reservations for game products will be accepted in-store, and a Ponta card in the name of the reserving customer is required to purchase reserved items.

Customers wishing to use app coupons are advised to inform store staff. Although push notifications regarding rental returns and reserved items will still be sent, the app will not allow users to check the details. For collecting winning trading cards, customers need to display the winning screen on a separate lottery sales site.

The GEO online store has halted new orders and order cancellations, but items ordered before the maintenance will still be shipped. Services for new applications in home delivery purchases, including checking appraisal results, approvals, returns, and payment procedures, are also suspended. However, pick-ups for already applied home delivery purchases and returns of home delivery rentals will continue as normal.
