Nol Universe has confirmed that personal data of some employees was leaked due to an external hacking incident. The company announced this following the detection of abnormal access to its systems.

According to the company, the incident occurred at 2:40 AM on October 19. An external attacker exploited security vulnerabilities in the system to gain abnormal access to employee information retrieval functionalities.

The leaked personal information includes four items: employees' names, phone numbers, company email addresses, and employee numbers. However, the announcement did not specify the exact number of affected individuals, the types of vulnerabilities exploited, or the intrusion paths used by the external attackers.

Nol Universe stated that it immediately blocked the access route used in the attack and reinforced the relevant security vulnerabilities. The company has also strengthened its security systems to detect and block abnormal access and is continuously monitoring for any further incidents.

Particularly concerning is that the leaked data includes employees' company email addresses and phone numbers, raising risks of targeted phishing or impersonation attacks. There is a possibility that attackers might send emails or text messages impersonating company officials or internal personnel using the information obtained.

The company has advised employees to be cautious of emails, text messages, and calls from unknown sources and to avoid clicking on suspicious links or entering personal and authentication information. They have also provided a separate inquiry function for employees to verify the potential leak of personal data.
