Leaked Images Reveal Google Pixel 11a Design and Hardware
Special leaked images have brought the Google Pixel 11a into clearer focus for the first time. The device is expected to maintain the design lineage of the Pixel 9a and Pixel 10a, while the primary changes are anticipated in the internal hardware. The transition to a Tensor G6 processor and a MediaTek modem indicates a more comprehensive hardware update compared to the previous generation.
The exterior of the Pixel 11a, expected to be unveiled in the spring of 2027, does not significantly deviate from Google's recently adopted design philosophy. The rear camera section is expected to have a more integrated structure with the body, using a slightly shorter version of the long oval form seen in the previous model. The flash is also expected to remain positioned outside the camera section. According to leaked dimensions, the Pixel 11a will measure approximately 153.46 by 72.35 by 9 millimeters. These values make the phone slightly shorter than the Pixel 10a, which measures 153.9 by 73 by 9 millimeters and weighs 183 grams, while the weight of the Pixel 11a remains unknown.
Four color options are expected: black, silver, green, and purple. The names Obsidian, Mist, and Olive are being considered for the black, silver, and green variants, respectively. The purple color is interpreted as Orchid, but this color and name have not been confirmed by Google. It is noted that color options based on leaks may differ from the final model available for sale.
The display is expected to retain a 6.3 inch 1080p panel with a 60 to 120 hertz refresh rate. However, HDR brightness is expected to rise from 2,000 nits on the Pixel 10a to 2,250 nits, and peak brightness from 3,000 nits to 3,350 nits. Battery capacity is projected to be around 5,000 milliamp hours, though leaks mention a minimum capacity of 4,870 milliamp hours. The camera setup is expected to keep the 48 megapixel main and 13 megapixel ultra-wide sensors. A telephoto camera specific to the Pixel 11a is not expected, but the front camera may be updated for the first time since the Pixel 7a. The device is expected to run Android 17 and receive seven years of operating system, feature, and security updates.
The Pixel 11a is expected to be announced in February or March 2027 and go on sale shortly after. While the previous four A-series models maintained a US starting price of 499 dollars, the new model's price could rise to 599 dollars due to price increases in the Pixel 11 series and rising memory and storage costs.
