Daiwa Securities announced today that its internal data was leaked, impacting approximately 220,000 records, which include the names, email addresses, securities account numbers, and consultation records of about 110,000 clients.

The company stated that the security incident arose from unauthorized access to the server of an external service provider, Scara Communication, between 8:33 PM on October 2 and 8:01 AM on October 3. This server contained client consultation records that had been processed. Immediate security measures have been implemented by the company.

Daiwa Securities noted that there is currently no evidence of unauthorized access to its own systems, nor any unusual trading activity linked to this incident. Additionally, there is no indication that the leaked information has been shared or made public online. The company emphasized that, based on the information potentially leaked, hackers would not be able to access clients' securities accounts or conduct online trading operations.
