TypeSafe AI has secured a large investment and reached a corporate valuation of 10 trillion KRW. The company announced that it raised 870 million dollars in a funding round led by a16z.

Other participants in the investment round included Sequoia Capital, DCVC, and angel investors. TypeSafe AI was founded in 2024 by former OpenAI researcher Diogo Almeida, former Meta research engineer Sasha Sheng, and entrepreneur Eric Gafni.

The funding follows the release of Jev, a model specialized for decision making. Unlike traditional large language models that generate text or code, Jev outputs probabilities and decision results that software can use immediately. It is the first model in the System One series and utilizes a learning method called RLCD to optimize the reliability of probability values.

Jev operates by selecting one of predesignated options or returning the probability of each option, which reduces the need for separate interpretation of results. This structure is intended to improve the speed and cost of automation tasks. The company is targeting the enterprise AI market by offering predictable decision making and low operating costs.

Since its release, Jev has seen rapid adoption, surpassing 1 million users within a few days. The company states that 29.4 percent of Fortune 500 companies are currently using the model, although specific customer names and revenue figures have not been disclosed. An introductory video for the model recorded 40 million views on X.

TypeSafe AI currently operates with about 20 employees and processes trillions of tokens per day. To manage this demand, the company uses infrastructure from Modal Labs. TypeSafe AI plans to use the new funds to increase its staff and expand computing resources for product deployment.
