Toyota Finance Corporation has announced a collaboration with Kyndryl and Toyota Systems Corporation to integrate agentic artificial intelligence into its operations. The partnership aims to transform the management of the company's information technology services. The project is scheduled to leverage this technology to optimize infrastructure design, change management, and impact analysis processes.

Kyndryl and Toyota Systems will apply the Kyndryl Agentic AI Framework to implement native AI workflows within Toyota Finance's IT operations. The two companies are developing a solution for technological change management that will use AI agents based on rules and specific client knowledge. This knowledge includes IT environments, operational manuals, and operations calendars. The objective is to identify potential inconsistencies and risks while improving the efficiency and reliability of the processes.

Akira Umehara, director of the IT Division at Toyota Finance, stated that people are fundamental for sustainable growth. He noted that allowing qualified engineers from Toyota Systems and Kyndryl to use agent-based AI technologies creates a virtuous circle. This approach enables people to focus on new challenges and generate greater value. The goal is to turn digital technology into a force that drives the business itself.

Iwao Nakano, commissioner and director of the IT Division for Finance at Toyota Systems, explained that the initiative aligns with the goal of making a sustainable mobility society a reality. The company plans to collaborate more closely with Kyndryl to apply people-centered agentic AI across the entire IT lifecycle. Nakano highlighted that this approach reflects the jidoka philosophy, which is known as automation with a human touch. He added that combining direct operational experience with digital technology will generate value through continuous improvement.

Yoshinori Irisawa, president of Kyndryl Japan, emphasized the importance of having adequate infrastructure to deploy this technology in enterprise environments. He stated that Kyndryl's approach prioritizes infrastructure for the deployment of agent-based AI. This allows the company to support adoption at production scale while balancing scalability and security in mission-critical systems. Irisawa added that the company will continue working closely with clients to help them implement AI securely and effectively while maintaining strong governance and operational resilience.

Toyota Finance will use agentic AI in its production environment to respond more quickly to changing business needs. The company aims to maintain high-quality infrastructure services in accordance with corporate governance standards. The initiative also intends to reinforce business continuity and increase the productivity of engineering teams. The incorporation of intelligent agents will improve efficiency and standardize the quality of review workflows. Impact analysis of system changes serves as an example of how agentic AI can reduce decision-making time and decrease the workload of engineers.

The solution seeks to facilitate more agile and consistent change management through task automation and the use of specific knowledge for each technological environment. It does so without giving up the necessary controls to guarantee system security and stability. Kyndryl, Toyota Systems, and Toyota Finance plan to progressively expand the use of agentic AI to all phases of the IT infrastructure lifecycle. The three companies aspire to extend the benefits of intelligent automation and move toward a broader transformation of technology service processes.
