TNS Engineering, a semiconductor equipment maintenance company, has reported a potential leak of personal information related to its clients due to a breach of Duzon Bizon's APO backup server.

The company utilized Duzon Bizon's APO backup service for its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system data and was notified on October 28 of unauthorized external access to the backup server and the possibility of personal data leakage.

The potentially leaked information includes client names, phone numbers, email addresses, business registration numbers, resident registration numbers, and account numbers. As of now, no actual data breach has been confirmed. TNS Engineering stated that all backup data was encrypted and that there is no evidence of the encryption key being compromised, as communicated by Duzon Bizon.

According to the notice, Duzon Bizon confirmed that some encrypted data may have been exported through vulnerabilities in the backup solution. After the incident was recognized, the affected server was isolated, and access from foreign IP addresses was restricted. Reports have been filed with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the Personal Information Protection Commission.

TNS Engineering is demanding confirmation from Duzon Bizon regarding the scope and extent of any data export and is implementing additional protective measures. The company has advised caution against fraudulent communications requesting money or personal information and plans to provide further updates if a breach is confirmed.
