Market America Worldwide announced on September 28, 2026, that it has completed a domain transaction, selling the Shop.com domain to Shopify. While the official transaction amount has not been disclosed, multiple reliable sources indicate that this deal is the largest domain transaction in history.

Market America Worldwide has owned the SHOP.COM domain for over 34 years. Shopify, founded by Canadian entrepreneur Tobias Lütke and others between 2004 and 2006, is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada. It is a publicly traded e-commerce company listed on the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ.

Shopify provides a comprehensive business infrastructure that includes website templates, product and inventory management, payment processing, logistics, marketing, data analysis, and multi-channel sales, all integrated within a single backend.

Although the official transaction amount was not released, experienced domain broker Andrew Rosener and other reliable sources have stated that the deal is valued at $100,000,000. If the reports are accurate, the Shop.com domain transaction will surpass the previous record of $70,000,000 for the AI.com domain.
