OZ Mall experiences unauthorized access, potential data breach of member information
The female-oriented information site OZ Mall has reportedly experienced unauthorized access, leading to a potential breach of member personal information.
According to Starts Publishing, which operates the site, on September 26, 2026, a large volume of access from abroad was detected. Access to the affected page was temporarily halted, and the source of the problematic access was identified and blocked.
An investigation confirmed the existence of a vulnerability on the site, indicating that personal information of OZ Mall members may have been viewed. There is a possibility that email addresses of up to 442,779 members, including those who have canceled their subscriptions, as well as names and prefectures of some members, were leaked.
The company reported this incident to the Personal Information Protection Commission on September 28 and is contacting affected individuals via their registered email addresses. No program tampering has occurred on the website, and the company has implemented measures to address the vulnerability before resuming service, stating that no secondary damage has been confirmed.
