A total of 270 million PLN has been allocated for the establishment of Local Cybersecurity Centers (LCC) to enhance protection for local governments that could not ensure this by themselves. The application deadline for grants has been extended to November 30, 2026, from the previous deadline of October 30, 2026. The funding is part of the FERC program, and the call for applications began at the end of July this year.

Local governments forming LCC will share specialists, equipment, and licenses, which will help avoid duplicating costs. Partnerships consisting of at least two municipalities, districts, or regional governments are eligible to apply for funding. This initiative aims to establish LCCs in municipalities and districts that will protect public offices, schools, and other local entities while securing public services for residents.

The grants can be used for monitoring networks and information systems, security audits, joint purchases of equipment, software, and licenses, cybersecurity services, and employee training. The maximum funding depends on the number of local governments involved in the project, ranging from 6 million PLN for two local governments to 15 million PLN for twenty or more. A significant requirement is that each project must cover at least 1,000 end devices. Furthermore, the leader of the partnering municipalities must have qualified personnel in cybersecurity.

Details about the application process for Local Cybersecurity Centers can be found on the website of the Center for Digital Poland.
