# SUSE and NVIDIA launch sovereign AI agent control platform

SUSE has introduced new capabilities that allow enterprises to adopt private artificial intelligence solutions for business environments while maintaining operational control, security, and governance over their systems. The company has integrated the new NVIDIA OpenShell reference architecture into SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA to strengthen the enterprise security of autonomous AI agents.

The new architecture combines NVIDIA Vera Rubin for model inference, NVIDIA Vera CPUs that run OpenShell for agent execution, and NVIDIA BlueField-4 data processing units that run NVIDIA Sentry. Sentry is based on NVIDIA DOCA and provides independent monitoring of the host system and the direct application of policies in the silicon. SUSE is a launch partner for the OpenShell reference architecture and contributes to the development of an open, industrial-scale architecture for creating, isolating, monitoring, and governing autonomous AI agents with enterprise-grade security.

By using isolated Kubernetes environments and API gateways along with OpenShell, SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA provides a controlled environment that regulates agent execution without compromising maximum performance. The latest version includes agent security based on the zero trust model through the NVIDIA OpenShell reference architecture, along with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for NVIDIA. The solution is designed to offer immediate compatibility with next-generation NVIDIA silicon platforms. These innovations provide a unified, enterprise-ready foundation that allows developers to create production-ready AI applications and autonomous agents, platform engineering teams to deploy them, and enterprise IT departments to govern them on any type of infrastructure.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for NVIDIA allows companies to accelerate AI workloads with immediate access to the latest NVIDIA hardware innovations, including the NVIDIA Rubin infrastructure that forms the core of the OpenShell reference architecture. As a mature and reliable enterprise Linux platform, SLES for NVIDIA is designed to scale smoothly to rack-scale architectures, connecting the rapid evolution of silicon innovations with strict operational stability and security requirements.

According to Gartner, in 2027, 35 percent of countries will be influenced by region-specific AI platforms that use proprietary context data. Building on its current relationship with SUSE, the Finance Secretariat of the Mexican state of Guanajuato is using SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA to validate sovereign AI capabilities with the goal of building a cognitive government in service of the citizenry. The use of SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA in their environment provides a clear path to becoming a truly cognitive government, allowing them to quickly evaluate AI workloads while ensuring that citizen data, infrastructure availability, and operational costs remain under their strict control.

SUSE and FSAS Technologies are collaborating to offer an AI-driven hybrid quantum computing platform that integrations SUSE AI Factory with NVIDIA and NVIDIA CUDA-Q software in FSAS servers. The solution is designed to move hybrid quantum intelligence from research labs to enterprise data centers. This is the first time that enterprise-grade hybrid quantum computing and NVIDIA AI Enterprise are offered as a unified, production-ready technology stack running on sovereign infrastructure. The execution of this technology stack on FSAS servers allows customers to maximize their current hardware investments and directly connect quantum simulation with production applications.
