# Salesforce acquires Braze for US$ 5.66 billion

Salesforce has announced an agreement to acquire the customer engagement platform Braze for approximately US$ 5.66 billion. The news was revealed on October 20, 2026, causing significant movement in the stock market: Braze's shares surged over 50%, while Salesforce's stock fell by about 1%.

According to CNBC, Braze shareholders holding Class A shares will receive US$ 47.50 in cash per share. On October 19, the company's shares closed at US$ 30.04. The completion of this transaction is expected in fiscal year 2028, subject to approval by shareholders and regulators.

Braze develops marketing tools utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for customer data management and message automation. This deal adds to a series of recent moves by Salesforce aimed at enhancing its AI presence. Earlier, Salesforce had announced the acquisition of the AI customer service platform Fin for about US$ 3.6 billion, intended to strengthen its AI-driven offerings for businesses. In August, Salesforce and Anthropic announced an expanded partnership that included a new plugin called Claudeforce, which features pre-configured sales capabilities to assist professionals in drafting emails, updating records, and performing other tasks using the frontier lab model.

The CEO of Braze states, "Salesforce shares our commitment to marketers, and we will continue to build as Braze and invest in the Braze community of customers and partners who have built this company with us. Salesforce's platform will help us innovate more rapidly, and together, we will help marketers worldwide build deeper and more lasting relationships with their customers."

The conclusion of the agreement between Salesforce and Braze is contingent upon regulatory approvals and shareholder consent from both companies.
