# Quda Capital Partners invests 820 billion KRW in AI startup

An AI semiconductor startup has secured a major investment, marking a significant milestone in domestic startup history. Quda Capital Partners has participated in a Series D funding round, raising a total of 820 billion KRW, as announced on October 29. Following the investment, the company's valuation is estimated at approximately 3.8 trillion KRW.

The National Growth Fund contributed 370 billion KRW, becoming the largest investor in this round. International investors included the U.S. firm Infinitum and Singapore's Quda Capital Partners, along with Cisco Investments.

Existing shareholders, including the Korea Development Bank, Naver, and NextTrans, have also made follow-on investments totaling 170 billion KRW. The Korea Export-Import Bank has selected the startup for direct venture investment for the first time since its establishment, while UAMCO has invested 40 billion KRW, the largest among new domestic investors.

With the funds raised, the startup plans to accelerate the production and global commercialization of its second-generation AI semiconductor, Renegade (RNGD), and expedite the development of its third-generation AI accelerator in collaboration with Broadcom. The company aims to enhance performance, energy efficiency, and scalability, targeting the hyperscale AI infrastructure market.

After starting mass production of Renegade in January, the company has been collaborating with LG AI Research for commercialization. It has also secured commercialization cases, such as the launch of Renegade-based NPU services by Samsung SDS and the provision of the next search summary service by Upstage.

The CEO of the startup stated, "This investment round is a milestone that demonstrates the trust of domestic and international investors in our technological prowess and business execution capabilities. We will present a new option in the AI infrastructure market with high-performance, high-efficiency AI semiconductors."
