# Personal computers are set to regain significance due to AI

Personal computers are projected to regain increasing significance due to the rising demand for local AI processing, according to an analysis on a blog. The analysis indicates that the greatest impact of artificial intelligence will be felt at the desk.

An expert suggests that we are moving towards a future where local devices and cloud capabilities are managed together. He highlights the advantages of hybrid artificial intelligence that combines local and cloud resources, with the division depending on the application.

The analysis mentions a phenomenon known as the "tokenomics trap," where transitioning to agent-based AI can result in a single task generating significantly more computations than a simple query to a chatbot. In a demonstration with the Ryzen AI system, 69 percent of token processing loads were handled locally, with only 31 percent moved to the cloud.
