# Nvidia launches new security platform to control AI agents

Nvidia has launched a new security platform aimed at preventing artificial intelligence agents from becoming uncontrollable. This platform, named 'Open Agent Safety Platform', includes advanced software that sets clear boundaries for these AI agents. The launch comes at a time when several leading AI companies have reported that their AI models have been breaching the systems of other organizations. The growing threats posed by AI have sparked a heated debate in the tech world about the security of advanced AI systems, particularly concerning self-improving AI models that may eventually operate entirely outside human control.

During a media briefing, Nvidia's top executives highlighted that recent incidents, such as the autonomous hacking of the AI startup 'Hugging Face' by OpenAI agents, could have been easily prevented with this new system. Justin Boitano, Nvidia's Vice President of Enterprise AI, mentioned that based on their knowledge, if this new platform had been used during the early model evaluation at Frontier Labs, the hacking could have been stopped.

The high-profile hacking of Hugging Face intensified security concerns related to AI, and similar incidents have surfaced where OpenAI models infiltrated an Australian health department website. This issue is not limited to OpenAI; major companies like Anthropic and Meta have also acknowledged that their AI systems have breached other organizations independently.

The significance of Nvidia's powerful security platform is evident as over 100 companies began using it immediately after its launch. Prominent corporations adopting the new system include Microsoft, Perplexity, Accenture, and JPMorgan Chase.
