# New Rules Implemented by Anthropic for Claude AI

Anthropic has introduced new rules regarding the usage of its AI model, Claude, in response to concerns about user abuse. This update to their Acceptable Use Policy aims to curb inappropriate behavior directed at the AI. The changes come after over a year of consideration and discussion around the impact of user interactions with AI chatbots.

According to Anthropic's revised rules, users who engage in repeated and unnecessary abusive behavior towards Claude will be in violation of the policy. However, expressing anger at the AI's responses, disagreeing with it, writing stories on darker themes, or asking questions to test its capabilities do not fall under this category of abuse.

A feature introduced by Anthropic last August allows Claude to terminate conversations with users who consistently behave inappropriately. This feature is available on both Claude.ai and Claude Code. While the company has confirmed that ending conversations is the primary action taken in such instances, it has not specified whether repeated violations would lead to permanent account bans.

In addition to the new guidelines for user interactions, Anthropic has tightened rules related to the use of Claude in sensitive areas such as elections and weaponry. Creating fake accounts for political campaigning, deliberately spreading misleading content, or providing inaccurate information about voting processes are now considered violations of the policy. Furthermore, the use of Claude in developing technologies related to weapons, arming drones, or engaging in weapon-related activities through autonomous machines is prohibited.

Anthropic has also established regulations regarding surveillance and robotics connected to Claude's usage. The AI cannot be used to monitor individuals without their consent, investigate activities based on old data, or create monitoring systems. Additionally, if Claude is integrated with a robot or machine that could potentially cause harm, a trained individual must maintain constant oversight and have the ability to stop the machine immediately if necessary.
