# Hanyang Securities Experiences Data Breach Due to Groupware Hack

Hanyang Securities suffered a data breach affecting personal information of customers and employees, with a total of 31 incidents reported. The leaked data includes sensitive information such as resident registration numbers and account numbers.

On November 3, the financial investment industry reported that Hanyang Securities confirmed unauthorized access to an external groupware solution used within the company on October 29, leading to the leak of personal data.

The identified leaked information consists of 15 customer data incidents, 2 employee-related incidents, and 14 general personal data incidents, totaling 31 cases.

Specific items of leaked personal information include names, resident registration numbers, driver’s license numbers, account numbers, contact numbers, addresses, birth dates, and email addresses. Notably, three incidents included resident registration numbers.

The incident occurred through the external groupware solution used by Hanyang Securities for business purposes. Upon detecting the breach, the company immediately blocked the external access and completed an emergency security patch in cooperation with the solution provider.

Notifications have been sent to relevant authorities, and affected customers will be individually informed about the incident and the measures taken. However, the exact timing of the initial breach, the vulnerabilities exploited, and the specifics of the data leak are still under investigation. The names of the groupware solution and its provider have not been disclosed.

Hanyang Securities has stated that it takes the incident seriously and will reassess its internal security management system and strengthen measures to prevent recurrence.
