# Cyberattack on Remote Support Company Exposes Customer Data

A cyberattack has impacted the remote support solution company, RSUPPORT, resulting in the exposure of personal information of administrators and agents from some client companies using the RemoteCall service. RSUPPORT confirmed the security breach on October 28, revealing that unauthorized access was obtained by an external attacker to the RemoteCall Software as a Service (SaaS) operating site.

The incident came to light after suspicious signs were detected on an internal developer's PC. Following this discovery, RSUPPORT initiated an internal security reporting procedure to investigate the issue, confirming unauthorized access to the RemoteCall SaaS operating site.

The leaked information includes details such as client company names, contact information for operational administrators, and email addresses of agents. Although RSUPPORT has acknowledged that personal information from some clients and agents has been leaked, the exact number of affected companies and the scale of the data breach have not yet been disclosed.

Investigations have not indicated any leakage of personal information or remote support-related data of end customers receiving the services. Following the confirmation of the breach, RSUPPORT blocked the unauthorized access route and reported the incident to the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) on October 29.

Further investigations into the specific attack route and scope of the breach are ongoing, with plans to enhance security measures based on the findings. The incident highlights the importance of monitoring developer PCs, as the unusual signs observed on one led to the identification of the SaaS operating site breach. The potential for phishing attacks using the leaked contact information has raised concerns, prompting RSUPPORT to advise clients not to open suspicious emails or messages.
