# Cisco ISE Reveals 42 Vulnerabilities, Some Exploited

On September 16, 2026, Cisco Systems disclosed serious vulnerabilities in the Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), which provides network authentication and access control functionalities. Some of these vulnerabilities are reportedly being exploited, prompting the company to urge users to update their systems.

The company published 15 security advisories, revealing a total of 42 vulnerabilities based on the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) system. Regarding the severity of these vulnerabilities, six were rated as 'Critical', three as 'High', and six as 'Medium' on a four-tier scale.

It is important to note that these severity ratings are specific to each advisory, and not all vulnerabilities mentioned in an advisory are necessarily rated the same. However, the advisory categorized as 'Critical' includes references to 21 vulnerabilities.

Particular attention is needed for CVE-2026-76460, which stems from a flaw in the authentication control of the management API. This vulnerability allows bypassing of authentication for the management interface via crafted HTTP requests, potentially enabling commands to be executed with root privileges. The Cisco ISE Passive Identity Connector (ISE-PIC) is also affected by this vulnerability.
