# Chainalysis Reports Breach Using AI Agents, Exposing Customer Data

Chainalysis disclosed a security incident where attackers compromised its internal systems and tools using artificial intelligence agents. The breach resulted in unauthorized access to customer information, including names and email addresses.

The company detected the intrusion in October 2026. Attackers successfully penetrated internal networks to retrieve user identifiers, full names, email addresses, and user roles within organizations. Chainalysis stated that the assailants employed agent-based attack methods, suggesting the use of artificial intelligence to automate the exploitation process with minimal human intervention.

Investigations have not yet found evidence that hackers accessed the content of investigations, credentials, or session tokens.
