# Apple releases iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 addressing numerous vulnerabilities

Apple has released the latest versions of its operating systems for smart devices, namely iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, addressing numerous security issues. An update was released on September 14, 2026, local time. The new operating systems tackle a total of 126 vulnerabilities based on CVE.

In terms of the core kernel, 20 vulnerabilities have been addressed. These fixes resolve issues that could lead to kernel memory corruption or system crashes. Additionally, vulnerabilities such as CVE-2026-43689, which could allow malicious applications to gain root privileges, have been fixed.

For processing web content, three issues in WebKit and one in WebKit Canvas have been rectified. The Bluetooth component has also been addressed, eliminating CVE-2026-65414, which posed risks of remote attackers causing applications to crash or executing arbitrary code.

The AVEVideoEncoder, responsible for video encoding, has had three vulnerabilities fixed. CoreMedia has also addressed three vulnerabilities, including one that could allow the execution of arbitrary code when processing crafted images. An older version, 26.7, has also been made available for previous environments.
