# Anthropic launches Claude Duet personal assistant

Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, a personal assistant designed to operate continuously and run in a separate virtual machine. This new service enters the personal agent market, similar to Meta Muse and OpenAI Dots, which also run on cloud infrastructure. Each instance of Duet has its own virtual machine and browser, allowing for individualized operation.

Anthropic describes Duet as a proactive agent that engages users when it believes attention is needed. It is capable of executing pending tasks as instructed. The underlying model for Duet is Claude Opus 5.5, which utilizes context from the main Claude service to enhance its functionality.

Duet will have its own dedicated app available on iOS and Android, while PC users can access it through a browser. Currently, it is in research preview status and is available only to users who subscribe to the Pro/Max package in the United States, sharing quotas with the standard Claude service.
